While other prestigious brands including Rolex, Jaeger LeCoultre, Vacheron & Constantin, Patek Philippe, and others later released watches with multiple time zone capabilities, the Gallet Flight Officer was the first. The Flight Officer (a.k.a. Flying Officer) was also the world's first wristwatch with a rotating 12 hour bezel and one of the first wrist chronographs with a water resistant case. Due to the watch's rarity, as only small numbers were originally sold due to the high selling price, the Gallet Flight Officer today achieves extraordinary results at auction and remains as one of the most coveted timepieces with chronograph collectors.
