1 x very heavily used vintage wristwatch. Highly unusual piece. Dial is branded with the BPM or  'brevet parachutist militaire'. This is the French and Foreign Legion parachute insignia. Research indicates that it is the 'chuter wings' badge for the 2nd Foreign parachute battalion / regiment. Not sure that the Foreign Legion issued watches to their personnel so the background to this one therefore remains a bit of a mystery. The watch itself looks like it's seem a lot of 'active service' and is in a very worn and authentic state. There are numerous dinks, scratches and blemishes to the case with a lot of associated age-related wear and patina. The movement is an unbranded thinline C80 quartz. This type of movement was made by Cattin during the 70's and 80's. It is in full working order. The date wheel at 3 o'clock is also working. The crystal is very scratched and has started to 'frost'. There is no lume to be seen anywhere. Highly likely that the watch is no longer waterproof even though the dial suggests '3 atm tested water resistant'!The case-back looks as if it is an aftermarket addition as it has a 'plongeur' engraving and there is hardly any wear and tear apart from the usual battery-change traumas. Case size is 37mm ( 40mm including the crown). Lug width is 18mm. Watch is currently on a generic khaki green silicone type strap. The whole piece weighs in at 58 grams. One for the collectors? Offers welcome. Thanks
