vintage Certina Chronolympic DS-2 vintage chronograph, in steel, with one the most desirable valjoux movement, the famous valjoux 23, here in the 232 execution. This is a rare find!   http://www.vintagecertinas.ch/wp/en/chronolympic/ The barrel/square shaped stainless steel case is 42,7mm wide not including the crown. Full length is 47,8mm. It is 20mm wide between the lugs. Certina is a Swiss brand of watches founded in 1888 by the Kurth brothers. For those of you wishing to know more about Certina and its fantastic vintage watches I strongly suggest the very informative website about vintage certinas, www.vintagecertinas.ch   Specifics of this model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piNRRg7WuG8 4 - This watch  DS-2 range, featuring one the most desirable movement of the vintage era, the legendary Valjoux 23. It is a column wheel movement with tremendous quality and prestige, having being used by Rolex and Patek Phillipe, to name just two of the more prestigious names in watch making history. 5 - The watch has an oversize barrel shaped stainless steel case, with a stainless steel screw case back bearing the iconic turtle symbol. The design of the case is quintessential sixties. 6 - Black dial with white registers, a design on par with other sports chronographs of that era, namely Rolex Daytona, Heuer Carrera, Breitling Top Time. This dial adds three touches of red in the minutes sub dial.   The bracelet: It is a brand new racing bracelet that goes very well with the watch. The reference number inside the case:   8601  300 An interesting point is that  this reference is not listed in the vintage Certinas website! serial / reference number in the movement: The watch is signed Certina: in the dial, in the case and in the movement. The crown is also signed with the Certina logotype.   cosmetics: dial: The original Panda black and white dial is in excellent condition! But the index marks at 5 and 7 o'clock show discoloration. The sub dials are also in excellent condition - see the pictures and make your own opinion. hands: the hands are in excellent condition! -  see the pictures and make your own opinion. case: Shows very light wear, no bumps, no dents, no ugly scratches.    - see the pictures and make your own opinion. Movement: very nice, excellent condition! - see the pictures and make your own opinion. The crystal: is plastic / Plexiglas and has no glazing, internal cracking neither ugly scratches - see the pictures and make your own opinion. The crown and the pushers: The crown is in excellent condition. The pushers are in excellent condition  - see the pictures and make your own opinion.   Inside the watch:  Swiss made high end manual wind 17 jewels, Certina 29-531, basis caliber Valjoux 232, a movement from the Valjoux 23 family. Service history: I have owned this watch for more than 15 years and I don't recall having it serviced. It has been left in a Bank's safe all this time. 1 - Not recently serviced 2 - The case appears to have been professionally polished in th
