J & H Jump. London. No 505 18k 1875 Keywind This your chance to obtain a rare 18k Gold example of a fusee watch by Joseph and Henry Jump. The Case and Movement numbers match. It winds and runs. Comes with the key. It's in excellent condition for it's ageJump was a very high quality firm of watch and clock makers in London in the 19th and early 20th century. "Jump & Sons 'Previously with Vulliamy' Mount St, London, 'By Appointment to His Majesty, The Dial: The Dial is white preclean with black roman numerals, an outer minute ring and Breguet black steel hands. The Crystal: The Crystal is a bullseye style and is clear and clean and free of scratches. The Case: The Case is 18k gold. It has an engine turned case back that terminates in the center with an 11mm cartouche that is not engraved. It is 40.3mm in width and open faced. It is hallmarked and dated to 1875. This was an important date in the company's history. In 1875 it was renamed Joseph & Henry Jump The Movement: The Movement is a Fusee movement. It has a Gold balance, and Jewels on the escape wheel and balance. Marked J & H Jump 1A old Bond St. London No. 505. Note! Joseph Jump was apprenticed in 1827 to the famous London clock and watch maker Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy. During the 1850's when Vulliamy died Joseph and his brother Alfred continued the business. . During their time together they worked at 55 Pall Mall and 11 Old Bond Street and were involved in the overhauling and recasing of the astronomical clock by Samuel Watson in the Royal Collection. The Jump Clockmakers were Clockmakers to the King The company Joseph Alfred & Jump was founded by Joseph Jump and Alfred Jump to 1856. Joseph Jump took over with his elder brother Richard Thomas Jump before the operation by Benjamin Vulliamy Louis . With his younger brother, he founded the new company which dan up to 1875 worked in this form. Joseph Alfred & Jump was in Old Bond Street 1a, London resident. The company was known for its bag- and carriage clocks in the style of Breguet . 1875 which was operational renamed Joseph & Henry Jump with son Henry as a business partner, shortly afterwards they moved to Pall Mall 55. In the Pall Mall workshop they started, produce the first of their famous coaches watches with domed housings. 1887 returned the company zurruck to Old Bond Street, now number 11. Joseph died in 1899 , the company was renamed in 1905 in Jump & Sons, (James Jump). The company was dan from 1908 until 1934 in Mount Street 93, London worked. In 1910 were Jump & Son royal purveyors, the company existed until 1934.
