Incredible extra large c1949 vintage men's ITA sport/dress Chronograph watch! This is New Old Stock in superb condition. All solid 18K rose gold case with long lugs and original brass inner antimagnetic dust cover. Several stamps and hallmarks for gold content, 18 karat, 0.750 -- case is all solid gold -- chrono buttons and crown are plated. Flawless dome crystal. Stunning original salmon & gold dial, fully signed. Features gold Sword hands, dual guilloche registers, mirror-gilt Arabic numerals and blue Tachymeter track. The pics are the best description, please view them. The watch is "mint", in that it's unused, undamaged NOS. But, there are a few age speckles on the dial & hands-- it's impossible for any 60+ year old item not to have some such signs of natural aging*. Again, I refer you to the pics, which are zoomed high-resolution specifically for this reason. Anything you see on the case is a reflection in the gold or a shadow: there are no dents or smudges etc. Running strong on its Swiss winding Landeron cal. 51 chronograph movement with 17 ruby jewels and antimagnetic protection. Serviced in 2014 and keeps great time. Stopwatch function starts, stops and snaps back with perfect alignment. Being NOS, the movement is bright, clean, and in such perfect shape it looks like it was made yesterday. See pic. As with anything vintage, accuracy cannot be guaranteed and regular serviced is recommended. This is a big men's watch (considered oversize in its day) at 40mm without crown, 47mm lug to lug. In a rare exception to other vintage pieces, this is identical size to most men's sport watches today. It also wears large on the wrist due to its slim bezel/large dial design. Comes as pictured on genuine, fully stitched 20mm Crocodile leather band in pink to compliment the pink gold case. This is, bar none, the finest example of the classic gold Chronograph I've ever come across, and is 100% original, as-new, with exception of the band. The original leather had dried and cracked in storage. Please view pics carefully as they show the item you will receive and describe the condition.
