This watch was presented to Private HW Barker, York and Lancaster Regiment,  who was awarded the DCM for repairing telephone lines under fire at the battle of Asiago  “For conspicuous gallantry under intense enemy barrage while working continuously on a main telephone line which had been cut to pieces. The two men assisting him were killed one after the other, but Private Barker stuck to his job and put the line through alone. Upon his return he immediately volunteered to go out through a barrage and mend another line, though he had nothing to eat for 15 hours. His absolute disregard of danger and his devotion to duty were magnificent”.
The hands are awesome which with the numerals carry some of the original luminous paint. The dial is beautifully black and in great shape. The crown is the original Pumpkin crownThe movement which is running well and keeping time is unsigned, however is a Fontainmelon movement. Is it wearable, oh YES this is a watch made for wearing and will catch the eye of many as your arm rests on the bar of your local pub.We ship WORLDWIDE, checkout www.WW1watch.com
