Ultra rare, vintage Jaeger 4 ATM "panda"Stainless steel Chronograph (Ref E. 13001), recently serviced works perfectly.Valjoux 72 movement (same as rolex Paul Newman or Heuer Autavia) Stunning patina, very nice silver "sun" dial with light golden reflection, light blue reflection on subdials and bezel (aluminium). Case never polished, some micro-scraches but very very nice shape, no deep scrach. The watch is large at 41mm with a 22mm lug width, and has angular bevelled lugs. Original never repainted dial. Original hands. Produced for the French watchmaker for a short period between 1968-1971, it is estimated that less than 100 of these Jaeger 4ATM’s were produced, making it one of the rarest chronographs of that era. The "4ATM" nickname comes from the engraving on the caseback, denoting its depth rating, with 4ATM, or atmospheres, translating to 40 meters. The dial of the watch is silver and satin brushed, with recessed black subdials that have faded, making for a striking panda dial. It has a three-register layout for the chronograph function, with the three o’clock sub-dial showing a thirty-minute counter, the nine o’clock subdial showing the running seconds and the six o’clock subdial showing the hour-counter. It has dot markers, raised steel index markers and a tachymeter on the outer scale. The black, rotating graduated bezel has faded to an even dark blue grey, and is made of aluminium. Interestingly, it goes backwards from 60-0, in increments of 5. Powered by the famous and reliable Valjoux 72 movement, this Jaeger 4ATM shares the same column wheel movement used by other watches in the same era, such as the Rolex Daytona and the Heuer Autavia. It comes with an milanese mesh 22m stain finish bracelet.
