Multiple time zones, Compressors,  Super Compressors,  Word Time,  GMT ,  Uni directional,  Bi directional Tachymeter Telemetre! oh you can have it all vintage or modern... But Sometimes just sometimes.. Less IS more.. some of the most collectible and revered collections and individual watches are the pieces that are quite simply "Time Only" from the military dirty dozen to the classics of the Audemars Ultra slim (see our other listings) a style we are seeing increasingly described as "Calatrava" for the dressier time only watches. Of course to call it such is wrong, as Calatrava is to Patek Philippe as Speedmaster is to Omega. But its a nice shortcut to describing Swiss efficiency minimalism and style encapsulated in a near flawless TIME ONLY wrist watch in an understated luxury finish. Thats of course what Girard Perregaux set out to achieve when casing this cal 30.7 Chromometer.
The Case Slim is in, let the big flashy divers have their place and let's move on..  Luxury REAL luxury classic luxury does not need to draw attention neither is it purposefully understated it simply IS. This case is as perfect today as it was the day it was made there is no heavy wear no evidence of over polishing on the contrary the case "edges" the Lugs the dipped fixed "Bezel" of the watch portray sharp angular finishes an added faceted depth to the watches all 18ct gold appearance like the faceting of diamonds altering light across its surface. (thats glimmering not flashing (a star not a strobe light)) Classic gents size 35mm in diameter (excluding crown) 36.6mm (inclusive) Original we would presume yet unsigned crown (as is not uncommon) but interestingly in matching 18ct gold.  40mm lug tip to lug tip and 18mm lug spacing.Screw down caseback similarly in solid 18ct gold fully signed and marked Girard Perregaux and 18ct gold. The DialAh it's so hard not to say it.. Calatrava style dial.. fine.. Super slim 18ct gold non numerical indexes "faceted baton" (like the case) Single minute track and all other detailing in Crisp black all on that superb silver pearl white backdropPoints of interest bar the absolute clarity and precision of the expertly applied "GIRARD-PERREGAUX" & "Chronometer" beneath below that the GP and boxed Squiggly line an indication of a quite historic chronometer caliber. but we will get there in a minute.. The Band A Quality Used but O so barely used! we couldn't bare to change it, it suits the watch the luxury look the finish the style and thats not without good reason. the watch is fitted with a superb quality DaBeer Paris Genuine Alligator watch strapThe Movement A Historic Caliber the first to beat at a frequency of 36,000 beats per hour Officially certified *C.O.S.C Chronometer and used by non other than the Canadian railway as their astute choice of  on Rail road Rail Timers (see Image Below) *COSC is Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, which is the institute responsible for certifying the accuracy and precision of wristwatches in Switzerland.Needless to say this movement is IMMACULATE
