Item Description: One gently preowned Bulova UltraSonic cleaning machine. The VC-10 is a mobile plexiglass unit on casters. Four recesses holding storage glasses of cleaning or rinsing liquids can be seen in the base of the machine. This fully automatic VC-10 cleaning machine is used for cleaning watch movements by a vibratory process.
During cleaning, the high quality steel cleaning chamber is under partial vacuum which is induced by a diaphragm pump. The individual liquids for cleaning are or rinsing are all sucked up into the cleaning chamber from the storage glasses under partial vacuum. The amount of liquid in the storage glass is such that only part of it is sucked into the cleaning chamber, the other part remains in the storage glass. Dirt from previous cleaning operations will settle at the bottom of the storage glass and is not sucked up for a new cleaning process by the suction tube, as the tube does not extend to the bottom of the storage glass. Once the cleaning and rinsing processes are completed, a strip heater is energized and the watch movements are spun completely dry.
