And here is the very rare chance, to own one of the rarest chronographs from the 50`s. Junghans Caliber J 88 in perfect working condition ! unmolested dial and hands. These early dials were hard anodized in black with luminous numerals. due to age, this dial has changed colour into a brownish tinge; depending on the light. as you can see in the photographs. was serviced in 2012 and hardly used since. base metal case with shiny chrome. steel snap back. Head only. all functions fine. resets to zero. keeps good time. very nice movement in excellent condition. the original radium numerals have affected the dial a bit; as to be expected from a 1950`s tool watch. crystal fine. crown has "pock marks "; being brass. vry unusual steel mesh band with red inlays. makes a stunning chronograph and a real headturner. 60 plus years old ! an important piece of german watchmaking history. diameter without crown: 36 mm. with crown: 39 mm . lug to lug: 43 mm . thickness: 14 mm. does not get much rarer than this one ! most Caliber 88 movements are beyond repair. this one is very good !
