The only way to machine this material perfectly is to employ an abrasive suspended in a liquid. The process takes an exceptionally long time (1mm of abrasion per hour), but yields an immaculate surface quality and delivers the desired dimensions with absolute precision (1/100ths of a mm).
This watch also gives a nod to the past - the use of the pendulum to measure time can be traced back to Galileo. The profile of its bridges and the architecture of its components recreates Galileo’s drawing of a pendulum to
