**This watch is for sale locally and on other sites so please message me to ensure there is no pending sale** This is an excellent example of the 7004a Wittnauer chronographs. They are enjoying steadily increasing popularity among collectors who love their tool watch looks and nice proportions with a large (for the time period) 40mm diameter case. There is a nice contrast between the matte black dial and the rotating burgundy bezel which creates a unique look for this Valjoux 7733 caliber powered chronograph. The dial features a tachometer and more uniquely a regatta countdown which means that it was a serious professional grade tool watch when new. This example was formerly sold by Hodinkee which has an authenticity guarantee as well as they inspect the movement for defects/damage/or due service. This watch needed nothing and was sold through the Hodinkee online shop. Brand: Wittnauer Model: Professional Chronograph Reference: 7004A Year: 1970s Case Material: Stainless steel Size: 40mm diameter; 12mm thickness Crystal: plexiglass Lume: Tritium lume with a lovely creamy patina Caliber: Manual chronograph - Valjoux 7733 Strap: leather racing style strap Lug Width: 20mm This 40mm chronograph is in great condition, offering a sharp case and a very pleasing patina throughout. The burgundy color of the bezel has faded slightly but is an extremely gorgeous color. Some very light wear with only a couple of superficial scratches. Similarly, the handset and indexes exhibit a creamy patina and the dial is exceptional. Please note that the crown is unsigned, and is likely a replacement part. In summation, this is a wonderfully attractive tool watch in great condition that should keep on running smoothly for many more years. Please message me if you have any questions.
