This stunning antique 1930's cocktail watch has been crafted in platinum, with a bracelet style strap. This iconic Art Deco sapphire and diamond wrist watch has an elongated octagonal dial with bold black Arabic numeral hour markers around a minute marked chapter ring which reflects the shape of the dial. The manual wind watch is fitted with shaped blued steel hands and an ornamented crown/winder. The elongated octagonal watch bezel incorporates a geometrical design embellished with thirty eight-cut diamonds, and eight calibre cut blue sapphires. The sides of the watch case are ornamented with a narrow band of chased decorated rope twist decoration which terminates in scroll and leaf designs. The exterior of the watch back is also accented with a chased decorated border. The exceptional bracelet style strap consists of two asymmetrical pierced decorated, geometric interlaced feature lugs accented with diamonds and blue sapphires; the arrangement integrating in to the gemstone embellished bezel. Thirty-one, pierced decorated, rectangular, articulated links, individually ornamented with an Old European round cut diamond, complete the bracelet strap. This stunning antique wrist watch secures to the reverse with a fully integrated, totally discreet, diamond embellished push fit clasp which benefits from the additional security of a side fastening security clip. The watch is fitted with a Swiss made, manual wind movement. The fine cocktail watch is is marked 'platinum' to the interior of the watch case and is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. This stunning 1930's Art Deco watch is fitted to the original leatherette case, which displays the retailer's mark 'By appointment, Hunt & Roskell Ltd. in alliance with JW Benson Ltd. Old Bond St, London W.' to the interior. Condition This ladies cocktail watch is fine quality, set with ninety-eight very high colour graded old, very well colour matched old cut diamonds and forty-six blue sapphires.
