CHANEL J12 BLACK CERAMIC AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCHThe J12 is an outstanding watch with a clean, streamlined look, just like the celebrated racing yacht from whom it receives its name. Its pure, served lines are the inspiration of designer Jacques Helleu, Chanel's Artistic Director. It took two years of research to perfect the J12, the final stage of which was a series of stringent tests which it passed with flying colours. The watch is produced by Chanel's workshops at La Chau-de-Fonds in Switzerland in the purest tradition of watch making. Each watch is numbered. The J12 underwent the most minute studies in order to combine technical perfection, excellent reliability, security and comfort to the highest possible degree. The J12 represents a major step forward in technological terms through its coherent use of innovative, high performance materials for both the case and the strap.Technical CharacteristicsCase: In high tech ceramic, a rust-proof, highly shock- and scratch-resistant material. The stainless steel back is fixed with 8 screws, also in stainless steel, and is slightly curved so as to fit the shape of the wrist comfortably.Size: 41mm diameter.Security bezel: Unidirectional, rotating security bezel for measuring the time elapsed, particularly when diving.Glass: Scratch-resistant, non-reflecting synthetic sapphire glass.Winder: Screwed, with a high-tech ceramic cap, with a wind protector built into the case body.Face: In relief with applied black lacquer. Applied white figures in solid Delrin with sufficient relief for easy reading in daylight, and luminous watch face figures and hands for easy reading in darkness.Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds and date positioned at 4:30.J12 Chronograph additional function: Time measurement by a central arrow-shaped second hand and 2 metres totally 30 minutes and 12 hours respectively.MovementsMechanical ETA 2894-2 self-winding automatic calibre. Power reserve of 42 hours. The winding action of the automatic models is activated by wrist movement, activating the oscillating weight which turns on its shaft.StrapScratch resistant high-tech ceramic. For the J12, Chanel has developed an articulated 48-link bracelet that fits snugly on the wrist, and is designed for all sporting activities. Its remarkable ergonomics are a result of its three-dimensional tapering shape: the links diminish in width, length and thickness closer to the underside of the wrist and the double folding buckle of the clasp.ClaspEquipped with a new, patented system with a triple folding buckle especially developed by the Chanel horological workshops at La-Chau-de-Fonds in Switzerland. The system, activated by a simple gesture, features a spring effect that makes opening and closing completely automatic and secure.Water-resistanceCompletely water resistance to a depth of 200 metres.Excellent condition.
