Up for your consideration is an extremely rare 1918 WW1 era Hebdomas "Ascot" gold plated officers Trench watch with the 8 day movement. This watch is in all original condition and looks great for its age. The 5 mil gold plated case shows some slight wear around the edges but nothing noticeable during wear. The porcelain dial is bright and all of the numbers are clearly visible and the red 12 has a lot of color left in it. There is a small hairline crack that runs from left right from the 8 to 5 position. The hinged back cover is tight and snaps on nicely. The unbreakable crystal is clear and crack free. The rare 8 day wind movement is currently running strong and keeping accurate time over a few days of testing but I have not tested for any longer than that and I know nothing of the watches service history. The only service date that is scratched into the back cover says 1-4-1919 was the last service. Therefore this watch is being sold "as is" for you to service/repair/parts. I do not accept returns on watches because I make no guarantees as to their mechanical service history. These are estate finds. Don't miss out on what may be your only chance to own a piece of WW1 and horological history. Please check out all of the pics as they are part of the description and ask all questions before bidding. Be sure to check out my other auctions for more vintage wrist and pocket watches.
