There are times that l can't help but wonder, what motivates designers to come up with such utterly different combinations of design, style, functionality, material and finish....and then conclude that it all works! At first glance, one will correctly see that this is a stunning, Highly Polished GOLD, Vintage Accutron Astronaut M5 (1965) S/N: D22124. Excellent buffing of the plastic Crystal has removed any minor scratches or blemishes. The "Crisp" (New Appearance) Dial has Sparkling Gold Markers, complimented with Gold Hands. Closer examination reveals that Case Bezel is "14K SOLID GOLD," the Back is "14K Gold Filled"with the Crown and Battery Cover being "Stainless Steel!" .... It's not unusual to find Accutrons completely 14/18K SOLID GOLD, 14K Gold Filled and of course, all Stainless Steel. This combination however, is a first for me, given the many years l have known and loved the brand. I guess that's quite enough rambling on....This is a truly Gorgeous example of Accutron Quality and Craftsmanship. Watch is fitted with a new Accutron Black Genuine Lizard Strap with a 14K SOLID GOLD "Tuning Fork" Buckle. Dial, Back, Strap and Buckle are all correctly signed 4X. A new battery needs to be installed in the 214 Movement which had been keeping accurate time. This Classic, which was purchased for $2,500 is a nearly 50 year old example of Accutron History can be yours..."If The Price Is Right."NOTE: Older, vintage watches are not new and do not necessarily look or act new. This watch has not been lab checked for accuracy, is sold as described above and is NOT guaranteed to keep running or keep accurate time. I photograph these fine time pieces as clearly as possible but there may be some marks beyond what is in the photograph. This is a beautiful watch, worthy of placing in your collection, and can be worn proudly.
