Bulova Spaceview from 1968, with all original crystal, hands, case, and braceletThis is a piece that stands out above average because of its originality. Many Spaceviews seen on the second hand market are conversions or not all original in some way. This piece has the original crystal, hands, and bracelet. Also, quite important, the original Chapter Ring that sits along the edge and is cut out to provide an interior look at the works themselves. In fact, this exact style watch case and bracelet were featured in a period Bulova ad, giving this style the nickname "Ad watch" and "Ad bracelet".This piece was sold in the US market, and the bracelet is an original JB Champion Gold Filled Herringbone pattern piece. This Accutron is set with a caseback crown that has a c-shaped clamp that rises out of the caseback for time setting. A new AccuCell-1 battery has been installed, and the movement runs quite well. Over the space of three months or so, I've observed the watch lose about a minute of time. The caseback does have an engraving on it which reads "S.O.C.G. May 15, 1968". The hands have original lume which has dulled to an attractive tone. I do not know the service history of this Spaceview and thus cannot guarantee that it will not need service at some point in the future, but I do guarantee that the watch is working exactly as described at the time of shipment.Caliber: 214, Tuning ForkSerial Number: D63384 (1968)Case Diameter: 35 mmLug Width: 18 mmCase Style Number: 2531Please look through the high resolution photos for more visual details, and ask any pertinent questions.
