With the collapse of the Berlin wall, German watchmaking returned to the forefront of the industry with Glashutte at the head of the pack creating mechanical masterpieces. Glashutte watches have a distinct and elegant look. The Pano line of watches epitomizes this look with a very understated round mid size case. The Glashutte designers have mastered the art of fitting several important complications into a mid sized dial while not making it appear too cluttered. At the heart of the PanoRetroGraph watch is the Caliber 60 manual winding movement. Glashutte, unlike several of their better know Swiss competitors, manufacturers all of their movements in house. The featured watch is an Automatic, Platinum Glashutte PanoMatic Chrono XL Navigator, Limited Edition to 100 Pieces. The Pano Edition is one of the most striking and well-known editions of the Glashütte Original manufacture. These Pano watches and their apparently light modern charm only allows the horological wonder in the innermost of the watch to be suspected. This piece in particular is a Limited Edition to only 100 pieces in Platinum, measuring to 44 mm and houses a Caliber 95 with 47 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. The blue dial has a fine tapestry guilloche engraving, giving the dial a carbon-fiber look with White Gold hands with white filling and painted white index/arabic numeral hour markers. It features a 30 minute stop-watch with a "Flyback" function, a large 2-disc date display window at 3 o'clock and a large raised "stop-seconds" sub-dial. Completing this piece is a blue leather strap embossed with a tapestry design with contrast white stitching and a Platinum Glashutte tang buckle.Large raised stop seconds sub-dial allows to set the watch accurately. It has a Blue Dial with fine tapestry guilloche engraving, giving the dial a carbon fiber look.
