We are very excited to be offering today a stunning and rare Solid 9ct Gold and Snake Skin mounted Hip Flask of the Highest quality and in absolutely beautiful condition and still retains its original leather and satin case.I have to say i have been in the Antique business for over Thirty Five years and have never owned or seen a Hip Flask of this quality and condition and have spent many hours looking online to find one with no luck,the closest i came was a nice Sterling Silver and Snake Skin one but not in the condition of this one and had no case so i think i can quite safely say that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a spectacular piece in this condition The Company that sold this Hip Flask was Edward & Sons Ltd Jewelers and Silversmiths of Buchanan Street Glasgow and also had a store in 161 Regent Street London.The Firm was started by George Edward in 1837 and was awarded Royal Appointment to Queen Victoria.They were well known for the beautiful items they produced and sold and the fine quality.When you handle the flask and feel the quality from the hinged and bayonet fitting top to the 9 ct solid gold drinking cup there is no mistake that it is a beautifully made piece and still all moving parts are working perfectly down to the original cork in the top and even that is in excellent condition.All parts are Hallmarked with 9 ct and the Birmingham Date letter for 1926 plus E &S for Edward and Sons and also on the original case that can be seen in our images.It has the date 1876 -1926 and two initials on the front that have been engraved very nicely but they are not very deep so if you wanted to have them removed it would be a straight forward and easy job but i personally think they are hardly noticeable and they do not detract from its beauty.They did not skimp on the gold they used on the Hip Flask and i can only tell you the weight of the very heavy drinking cup that slides off which is 85 grams of Solid 9ct and the top is very thick gauge as well but i would not like to guess its weight but it would be quite substantial.And to finish off the flask the Snake Skin has a beautiful pattern and in very good condition no rip splits or repairs.Please read our 100% feedback and you will see our items are packed professionally and with great care.All items are sent with tracking insurance and signature on delivery and our Postage Charges include the insurance as well.
