Audemars Piguet 5548 Quantieme Perpetual Calendar, 25657/002BA, 18k yellow gold on a strap with an 18K yellow gold tang buckle, automatic Audemars Piguet caliber 2120 QP, day, date, month, moon phase, white dial with applied yellow gold index hour indicators, sapphire crystal, water resistant, diameter: 36mm, thickness 7.5mm, circa 1980s, Like New With box and papers that are stamped with no date. This is a c. 1980's 18K yellow gold Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Calendar, reference 25657/002BA. It has an alligator leather strap with an 18k yellow gold Audemars Piguet tang buckle, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal. There is a solid snap-on case back engraved with "Quantieme Perpetual Automatique," and the serial number. The 36mm diameter solid three-body case back, downturned lugs, and stepped bezel are polished. The dial is white with applied yellow gold baton hour markers, on a pe rimeter minute track. It has gold baton hands, and four subsidiary dials, including a day register at the 9 o'clock position, a moon phase dial at 6 o'clock, a date indicator at 3 o'clock, and month subsidiary dial at 12 o'clock. There are correctors in the band at 4, 8, and 10 o'clock for adjusting the date. It's water resistant to 30 meters/100 feet, and the 7.5mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed. This Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Calendar, reference 25657/002BA, has a mechanical automatic self-winding Audemars Piguet caliber 2120 QP movement that's rhodium-plated, with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 36 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance that's adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism, and 5 positions. It has a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a 21K gold rotor segment.
