Originally, the company designed and produced jewelry and everyday items such as sunglasses which were then sold in a boutique located in Geneva. Gruosi introduced the use of black diamonds into many of his designs, which at the time was very unusual. With the success that followed he was quickly able to open boutiques in London, Gstaad, Rome, Paris, St. Moritz, Kuwait, Moscow and Hong Kong - all within the first five years. It wasn't until the year 2000 that Fawaz developed his first watch collection for de Grisogono, the Instrumento No Uno. The featured watch is an Automatic, de Grisogono Instrumento Novantatre Annual Calendar. The Instrumentino generously proportioned 47 X 40 mm case with its fully cambered, wrist-hugging profile takes its cue from the design and dimensions of the Instrumento No. Uno. Aesthetically understated yet coolly assertive, its generous dimensions include a unique square bezel and crown at 3 o'clock . The black dial with red accents is stunning with its guilloche finishing and unique design of the the enlarged "3" and "9," and displays the date. Completing the piece is a de Grisogono black leather strap with a hidden butterfly deployment buckle. Personal Note--The very first watch for de Grisogono, the watch set the standard for the now highly successful brand. This piece is truly unique and more gorgeous in person... The square case is perfectly curved to fit your wrist with real comfort and the guilloche finishing on the dial makes this piece stand out.
