1950's ULYSSE NARDIN Vintage Chronometer Mens Midsize Dress Watch, Beautiful Case - 14K Gold
Very Fine Mens Watch - Handsome & Elegant - 1 Year  Warranty
A very fine mid-century wristwatch for the American market from Ulysse Nardin... We are pleased to offer this uncommon and beautiful Ulysse Nardin chronometer wristwatch, a very distinctive example of one of their vintage watches made for the U.S. market. It is one of our favorite dress watch styles, the knot lug design. Adding to its interest and drama is its original two-tone silver crosshair dial. Its 14K gold case is near mint. Its quadrant dial dial is untouched. And its very precise handwound chronometer movement adjusted for temperatures is clean. Note that we have thoroughly cleaned the case since the photos, but we left the it unpolished - if you would like it lightly polished let us know. Our watchmaker has freshly serviced it, and for the finishing touch we have installed a new crocodile strap. Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance. Ulysse Nardin:
Ulysse Nardin is best known for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments often used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
