When it comes to serious collectors, the Gallet MultiChron Flight Officer is on that most coveted list. While other prestigious brands including Patek Philippe, Jaeger LeCoultre, Vacheron & Constantin, and others later released watches with multiple time zone capabilities, the Gallet Flight Officer was the first. The Flight Officer (a.k.a. Flying Officer) was also the world's first wristwatch with a rotating 12 hour bezel and one of the first wrist chronographs with a water resistant case. Due to the watch's rarity, as only small numbers were originally sold due to the high selling price, the Gallet Flight Officer today achieves extraordinary results at auction and remains as one of the most coveted timepieces with advanced chronograph collectors.
While working for Gallet, I was very fortunate to acquire this important chronograph in such amazing condition. Apparently stored away and handled with care for most of its 60 plus years, the case shows only minor signs of use. The dial (face) is in extraordinary 100% original condition with a slight natural patina to the luminous numbers. Receiving an expensive "Museum Style" restoration a few years back, which involved cleaning, lubrication, and calibration of the mechanics while not polishing away the watch's precious history, all time keeping and time recording features function perfectly and accurately.
This is a rare opportunity to own a wristwatch sought after by serious collectors and anyone desiring to wear a true historic timepiece. Accompanied by a high-quality, NATO military style black nylon strap, this amazing timepiece is ready for decades more use and enjoyment as its value as an important collectible continues to appreciate.
