History aside, it’s a stunning watch that has aged remarkably well. The case, gauging 42mm, is solid 18kt yellow gold and stamped inside the case-back “UNIVERSAL GENÈVE 18KT 750”. The lugs, gauging 18mm, are sleek and streamlined with the curvature of the case. The dial is a soft silver tone, flat in the center and bevelled around the gold faceted baton hour markers. A bullet point minute track follows the circumference of the dial accompanied by polished gold Dauphine-style hour and minute hands with sweep seconds. Securing the piece is a fine artisanal calf leather strap with a rich walnut tone and a gold tone buckle. The movement: Swiss made self-winding bumper automatic mechanical 17 jewel cal. 133SS with 36 hr power reserve movement.
