This is a beautiful Ebel "Le Modulor" chronograph, with a 27-jewel caliber 137 automatic movement. It has the largest 41mm case in solid 18k gold and an 18k gold folding deployant clasp. It comes with a genuine Ebel triple box set, owner's instruction booklet in 10 languages, and the Ebel "worldwide technical assistance" booklet. When comparing prices, please check that you are comparing identical models. Some Le Modulors have a smaller 39mm case ; and some have a glass back, which means you get far less gold for your money. This watch has the 41mm case & solid gold back, and weighs a chunky 101 grammes in total. The case is in very good used condition, with just a few minor scratches and a tiny ding in the bezel at about 10 o'clock, but these are really only noticeable under magnification and the watch looks great on the wrist. The dial and hands are in excellent condition. The adjustable dark brown croco strap is a genuine Ebel item, in used condition with a little wear and a small stain on the underside of one side. Also, the top surface of the leather cracked just below the 6 o'clock position (see photo), and has been glued down, making a slight ridge in the leather. Again, this is only noticeable under close examination - the strap looks fine and has plenty of use left in it. The watch has not been serviced recently, but everything functions correctly and it keeps time to around 20 seconds per day. I expect that a full clean / lubrication service by a watchmaker would improve this.Measurements : 41mm left-to-right excluding the crown, 45mm vertically from lug-tip to lug-tip. Lug width 22mm.
