1945 UNIVERSAL GENEVE TRI-COMPAX Mens Vintage Chronograph Triple
Calendar with Moon Phase

A Very Pleasing, Fine, & Complicated Vintage Masterpiece - 1 Year Warranty
An Extremely Fine, Complicated Vintage Masterpiece For many collectors and serious watch connoisseurs, the incredible wristwatch featured in today's auction needs no introduction... Nicknamed "The Glorious" by the watch industry after its release, the Tri-Compax's innovation and design have landed it among the iconic vintage wristwatches made. Serving as the pinnacle of Universal Geneve's offerings, a company that helped popularize the chronograph, the Tri-Compax offered nearly all of the technical features available at the time, neatly packaged into one extremely fine and complicated wristwatch. The stainless steel case is in pleasing condition, original down to the rectangular pushers, corrector pins, and crown. The complicated dial is bright, showing only slight aging and one re-attached original marker. We were told the dial finish is original, but we are of the opinion that is a very well-done refinishing. The high-grade Universal Geneve caliber 481 movement is clean. The Tri-Compax movements were the most complex mechanism ever offered by the company. The movement has been freshly cleaned and oiled. All functions are working and the chronograph hand sweep hands resets to an exact twelve o'clock. Included with the purchase is a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

Timepiece's Finer Points:
Dial: Matte silver, luminous baton indexes, outer tachometer graduation for measuring speeds without calculations, guilloche auxiliary dials for the seconds, the 12 hours and 30 minutes registers, graduation for the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases, sub dials in English, bright and attractive with one re-attached original marker - appears to be a very well done restoration
