RARE! New Old Stock '60s Wyler Chronograph with Valjoux 72 3 Register Movement, Missing a part.
Stainless Steel 37mm Case. Includes original box, hang tags, sticker on back, original alligator leather band. This watch was never sold to a retail customer. I purchased it 5 years ago from the estate of a jeweler who sold Wyler watches back in the 1960's. This watch was in his drawer for many years. It is missing the sweep second runner, the part that starts, runs and returns the center sweep hand. Swiss reference part #8000 is what is missing. I knew the jeweler / watchmaker and when I asked about chronos, I was shown this watch. He would not sell it to me; he always going to fix it. He told me that he needed a part to repair a customer's watch and he simply robbed this one of the part to fix the customer's chronograph quickly. He never got around to replacing the part and I bought it when he passed away.
This watch is NEW OLD STOCK, with everything included just as it was when new, just missing a part. There is no reason to install the hands just for a photo, the risk of damaging the dial is not worth it.
I am offering this watch As-Is, needing a part. The part is available, I found several suppliers that advertise it for around $50.-$60. If it does not sell, I will order the part and have it installed. The price will obviously be considerably higher if I do that. Here is an opportunity for a buyer to save and repair at their leisure and save $. Watch runs and everything is in pristine condition. Crystal, dial, and hands are all perfect.
