Edward Daniel Johnson was one of the finest English chronometer makers of the mid to late 19th century. This watch is a 3/4 plate fully jeweled (capped at the lever and scape wheel) with screwed in Jewels.Straight line lever with unusually for an English watch a double roller escapement.The watch is going and keeping good time. Bare case is just under 2 ozs and Hallmarked for London 1875 maker G-A-P. Edward Daniel Johnson was a Founder Member and Vice President of the British Horological Institute, a Fellow of Royal Astronomical Society and was granted The Freedom of The City of London in 1860
