The solid gold case has never been engraved, and the dial is in beautiful condition. This Elgin, grade 50 pocket watch was produced in Elgin, Illinois in 1885. It was among a run quantity of 1,000 watches. It is a size 16s Convertible movement with a lever setting. It has a Moseley regulator, and is adjusted. This is a railroad grade watch in like-new condition. The serial number is 1648595. It has been recently serviced (cleaned & oiled), and is running perfectly, guaranteed! The 14K gold case weighs 43.1 dwt. This weight includes the crystal, but not the movement, and there are no springs, so an estimated 40 dwt of gold.
