You may not have heard of Alfred and Norbert Riedl and their Pierre Petit watch brand, but perhaps you’ve heard of the Jacques Lemans brand. The Riedl brothers spent many years building Jacques Lemans into an affordable, quality watch line that’s sold worldwide. When French watchmaker Pierre Petit put their company up for sale, the Riedl brothers recognized a tremendous opportunity and bought the company. Although it was not widely known, Pierre Petit had already been producing much of the Jacques Lemans inventory for many years. Alfred and Norbert knew the company well and recognized that it had the capacity to produce extremely high quality watches at an affordable price. By owning the brand, the brothers knew that they would be able to have total control over quality, just like well-known luxury brands. They moved Pierre Petit to their hometown of St. Veit an der Glan, Austria and subsequently re-launched the Pierre Petit brand. With this re-launch, Alfred and Norbert made a commitment to creating a new line of watches that were both classic in design and uncompromising in quality.Following their basic principle of combining exquisite design with excellent value, Pierre Petit began manufacturing a collection of fine timepieces that soon caught the eye of sophisticated watch connoisseurs worldwide.
