Size 16, 17J, Antique Pocket Watch (1906) Up for auction: antique Waltham 14K Gold, Hunter Case, Size 16, 17J, Model 1899 Antique Pocket Watch in very good cosmetic condition. Watch is in running condition but stops after approximately 30 min. and runs again after a small shake. It needs to be cleaned to run well. The dial is in very good shape with several hairlines (please see the picture).Please note that the crystal is missing. The watch total weight including movement (crystal not included) is 3.47 oz.An 16-size gold hunter case will range from 60dwt for an extra-heavy case to 30dwt for an extra-light case, with 40-45dwt (2-2.25 troy ounces) being about average.
The movement of the watch reads: "A.W. W. Co. WALTHAM, MASS" "17 JEWELS" "15465153" The inside of the outer back case: "WARRANTED 14 KT TO ASSAY B.W.C.CO. 6381150" The inside of the inner back case: "6381150" Based on the serial number this movement was manufactured in 1906. The solid 14K case manufactured by Brooklyn Watch Case Company. There is a monogram on the back of the front case: "yes!" (please see the picture).
