He earned great respect after his travel to Spain in 1758, when the King bought his entire stock. Prior to that he had only one workshop in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, but this allowed him to open a second workshop in London, where he began to work on his masterpieces. Later opening a third workshop, the highly recognized, watchmaker toured around the world and was universally applauded for his works of art, both hydrologically and aesthetically. He was known as the finest craftsman of his day and went on to teaching his techniques to many exceptional watchmakers and craftsmen.The featured watch is an Automatic, Black Ceramic Jaquet Droz Grande Second. Balance is embodied in the hour and minute subdial which is subtly adjoined to the large seconds subdial like concentric circles with the seconds subdial located at 6 as it intersects with the hour and minute display located at 12.
