Early 18th cent Dumb quarter repeater. Made by Joseph Antram. London. a.1697, member of the Clockmakers Company.1706. died 1723. Clock and watch maker to George 1. The watch dates back to around 1710 and is in Working order. Fusee Verge escapment with stem push quarter dumb repeat, that means hits the inner case rather than having a bell.The original case is brass gilt pair case, the movement has a white metal dust cover signed: Joseph Antram Watchmaker to his Majesty GR London.The movement is also signed the same.Diameter 54 mms dial 40 mms.
