Vintage Girard-Perregaux Doctor's Watch Original Gilt Dial ~ Serviced
Estimated price for orientation: 1 295 $
Category: 1
Class:
Description Year of Manufacture: 1930-1939 Band Material: Leather Case Material: Stainless Steel
Men's all stainless steel Girard Perregaux doctor's watch with all original gilt dial with beautiful aged patina. Watch features a 15j manual winding movement. Watch was serviced. 35mm case diameter. Black leather genetic band with steel generic buckle. It's referred to as Doctors watch because of the large second hand ring on the outside of dial. Doctors used this check heart rate and record intervals in seconds. A very unique timepiece. I am told only a handful of these watches exist. What's unusual about the dial is the hours is a sub-dial at the 12-o'clock. The minutes is a sub-dial at the 6-o'clock. The seconds dial is the full dial. This configuration is referred to as Doctor's dial for doctors to measure pulse. It's easier for reading the larger seconds dial then typically having a seconds small sub-dial. A great watch to have in a watch collection. Very hard to find with the original dial and in great shape with a nice patina. The gilt numerals and hash marks add to rarity of the watch. No box and no papers. Was cleaned by watchmaker and in good working order.
