For your consideration is this excellent rarely used just serviced WWII Military Issue 1942 Hamilton 16S, 19J, 3 Position + Temp Adjusted Model 23 Chrongraph Pocket Watch. It is pendant set and pendant wind, and 1 button 3 step start, stop, and reset Chronograph Function.I took it to my longtime watchmaker who has serviced and repaired dozens of antique Railroad and WWII Pocket Watches for me from my extensive collection. This Master Watchmaker has 80 years experience. I guess I don't have to say how old he is! I asked if it really needed servicing as it has seen little to no use, and seemed to work fine. After taking a look he said, if you want it to function for the long haul, service it! All the lubrication has dried up over the last 74 years! He has never steered me wrong, and always makes perfect sense. You will see his service mark on the inside of the rear cover. He serviced it in April or May 2016. He also told me sometimes these early chronographs can be just a bit persnickety, and may require an extra push on the 3 step chrono function button. This wartime Hamilton keeps excellent time, it winds, sets, and the chronograph functions work. I am not sure this watch ever saw much service by our troops or officers during the war. It's physical condition is outstanding. The dial and hands look new. The thick glass crystal is also excellent. The chrome plated base metal case is also outstanding. I see no dents, dings, deep scratches, or any wear thru(brassing). The bow is tight. The crown looks new. The 19 Jewel Nickel Movement is outstanding. I see no signs of any rust or corrosion. It is clean, and shiny. I try to be very critical of my own listings via text and multiple pictures. I do not want the new owner to experience any unpleasant surprises. I would not want that to happen to me. Small imperfections you may see under magnification often go unseen with the naked eye. I believe this 74 year old Hamilton WWII Model 23 Chronograph Pocket Watch is ready to wear or display. Please see all 12 pictures to determine for yourself the condition of this very fine WWII timepiece. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LOOKING!
