This 1970's Montdor Ressort Chronograph is a rare and unique timepiece. The manual wound Landeron Cal. 140 movement found in this piece is quite unique as well. The Landeron company was founded in 1873 by Charles Alfred Hahn and his brother Aim Auguste. Landeron built many different column wheel chronograph movements during the next 30 years, the most being of the 'classical' bi-compax layout. Landeron's most important contribution to the history of the chronograph wristwatch was the invention and introduction of the cam-operated chronograph on the eve of World War II. Their '47' sports operation by three pushers. Many watch producers satisfied this demand with many affordable chronographs of similar design - one of them being LeJour. The dial is matte black with white subdials is framed by a white tachymeter at the outer edge of the dial.
