Up for sale is my Girard-Perregaux GP 7000 GBM automatic chronograph watch, rated at 30 meters water resistance. Girard-Perregaux is truly “haute horology” and is regarded as one of the top-10 watchmakers in the world, hand assembling all their watches and producing Swiss watches of the highest quality.As a sound investment with prices steadily climbing over the years, the GP 7000 GBM was conceived during the growing era of high-luxury chronograph wristwatches to compete with the likes of the Rolex Daytona. If you go to the Girard website, you can see that they attribute this watch model as “one of the most significative creations by GIRARD-PERREGAUX.” Others have described it as the gentleman’s chronograph with true heritage and appropriate case dimensions.It is in great condition in my opinion for a watch of this age or any age for that matter. It is an extremely well built timepiece and comes with two (2) genuine crocodile leather straps with original GP buckle. The original fit and finish is very high quality, and is absolutely stunning with the rhodium-plated case (similar to how white gold jewelry is produced) and gold-plated hands and markers.The watch is sold "as-is" so please ask your questions in advance before committing to buy. I’ve owned this watch for a few years and have not worn it often at all since it is more of a collection piece for me. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully as they are part of the description. On the wrist, it looks fantastic.- Crystal: Sapphire crystal; no scratches to the crystal; Excellent.- Dial, sub dials, and hands: Original and signed; Black porcelain with contrasting gold sub-dials; gold plated hands and markers; date window with “cyclops” magnification; Very good.- Case and caseback: 38mm; Rhodium-plated stainless steel; Signed; Polished; Some very small scratches and under lugs from strap changes; Very good.- Bezel: Tachymeter scale; Couple of very small nicks that are not immediately visible to my eyes when worn on the wrist; Polished; Very good.- Crown: Original push-pull; Polished stainless steel; Top of the crown seems to have been gold plated but has worn off over time due to handling of the crown with one's fingers, but to me it is not noticeable; Very good.- Movement: Girard-Perregaux automatic caliber 8000; Keeps great time on the wrist once wound up and on watch-winder; Chronograph functions and dials reset to zero; I don’t know the watch’s service history.- Strap: Two (2) non-original high quality genuine crocodile leather straps (Deep Caramel and Black) that are in great shape with original signed-GP polished buckle.- Comes with the non-original outer box and inner high quality wood-grain box.
