Most importantly, this is an unusual opportunity for any watchmaker willing to take it on. You will end up with 5 beautiful high grade pocket watch movements. They are 43mm. in diameter and 7mm. thick.The quality of many movements start with the ebauche stage. The pinions in this set are well polished with a high tooth count. The wheels, are also created with the same quality. The barrels have the maltese cross stop work built into it. As you know this is to take advantage of the center and most stable section of the mainspring, not something found in lesser watches of the time.Please remember, this is not a kit with all the pieces ready to drop into place to create a running pocket watch.Every part, and I mean every single part, needs some adjustment to fit correctly. Every single hole is undersized, every pin too large, etc. All the steel parts need beveling and finishing, the acting faces of springs need to be fitted and polished.This was the job of watchmakers when ebauche was the popular method of manufacturing watches.Also you will notice that there is no escapement or balance. The pallet forks in the pic are some that I chose hoping to find one that worked.Today you can buy escapements and balancewheel/hairspring combos, there are people that can make them to your specifications. Also you may notice that there are not 5 of every part necessary. But there are enough parts to make 2 watches complete and 4 watches with a minimum effort.
