It is situated in La Chau-de-Fonds, Switzerland and is a part of the Sowind group, a subsidiary of Kering. In 1791, watchmaker and goldsmith Jean-Francois Bautte signed his first watches. He created a manufacturing company in Geneva grouping, for the first time ever, all the watch making facets of that time, which meant starting from the engineering of the watch all the way to the final hand assembly and hand polishing of each watch. In 1852, the watchmaker Constant Girard founded the Girard and Cie Firm in La Chaux-de-Fonds. He, then, married Marie Perregaux and the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture was born in 1856. Girard Perregaux watches have now become prized, collected, admired and revered the world over !! Please note: this delightful 18ct gold watch will fit a wrist size of a maximum of 7.5 inches.Dimensions as follows ...Watch ...                                                                                            Case ...Length: 9 inches or 22.8 cm (measured between strap ends)                 Length: 9.6 inches or 24.5 cm                                       Length: 1.35 inches or 3.5 cm (face)                                                    Width: 2.1 inches or 5.5 cmWidth: 0.85 inches or 2 cm (face)                                                         Height:0.9 inch or 2.4 cm        Height: 0.25 inch or 7mm   Weight: 0.8 oz or 22 grams (watch)                  Weight: 5.3 oz or 150 grams (watch and case combined)This is as good as it gets with regards to vintage 18ct gold watches.
