Greetings, y'all! After taking some nice summer holidays I've decided to come back e-Bay to kick-off autumn earnings season!Another of the rare finds from my Alladdin's Case is this rare tantalum cased automatic Royal Oak watch originally bough by me at CORTINA Watch Centre Pte Ltd in Raffles City Shopping Centre in Singapore just before Christmas 1998. I had this watch valued by Malcolm Hammond of Watches of Bond Street Limited in September 2000 for insurance purposes, replacement value was GBP 6,000 16 years ago. At that time watches with 36mm diameter (33mm without crown) were perfectly OKay for gents to wear, however these days it would be a perfect watch for an appreciative female companion to wear.Tantalum is a precious metal similar to gold in density, but looking million times better. This specific watch is probably described best as 50 shades of grey example given its dark grey case, lighter shade of greay Gerald Genta waffle dial and stainless steel bezel and bracelet elements. This is certainly a late 90's piece, but who knows, maybe the 90's will become one day as fashionable as the 60's, 70's (my personal favourite), and the 80's one day. Please note that the watch is located in Geneva, Switzerland (despite being listed on the www.ebay.co.uk) and can be either sent by courier from Geneva or from a neighbouring France in order to optimise on customs charges. I can also accommodate collection in person for anyone wishing to travel to Switzerland to examine the watch firsthand. Additional bracelet link bough from Watches of Switzerland for GBP 90.00 in 2002 (receipt included for provenance), Original Audemars Piguet Certificate of Origin / Guarantee Franck together with the quite to rare to find inner and outer Royal Oak boxes are included in the sale.Best if luck and thank you for your interest in my yesteryear timepieces, more listings to follow in due time.
