Magnificent Gold case verge fusee with quarter of an hour repetition of the French watchmaker Godefroy from Paris, France around 1760, with absolutely rare and highly complicated watch chain/Chatelaine braided horsehair. Diameter 43mm, weight 69g. Ample ornate case 20k gold. Housing with large lateral hinge and Paris Goldpunze. The reverse depicts a motif with wine amphora, torch, fruit basket and Maskaron to aureole and braided frame. The case is in very nice condition and shows only minimal signs of age. Glass in very nice condition. Bolted and enamelled dial with Arabic numerals. Dial with tiny abrasions. Two fine pointer. Gorgeous, gold plated full plate movement with spindle escapement, chain and Fusee. Blued screws. Engraved regulation disc. Quarter of an hour Repeater a TOC. Throw the repeater using presser on counterpart. Very nice sawn and engraved balance cock. Work with signature "Godefroy a Paris". The clean work runs flawlessly. Highly engineered Uhrenkette braided horsehair and engraved gold clasps. Length 35cm.
