New Baroque double housing forget anno 1743 fusee John Sanderson Newcastle.

Beautiful and very early double housing verge fusee the watchmaker John Sanderson from Newcastle to 1743. Diameter 51mm, weight 102 g. Housing made of silver, smooth, large lateral hinge. Inner housing also made of silver, smooth, case maker punch mark "PC" (Peter Cromillou, London), and English silver hallmarks. Inner housing in very nice condition. Outside housing with small signs of wear and batted hallmark. Magnificent silver dial, champlevé, inlaid radial Roman hours, blued "Poker & Beetle" -Stahlzeiger. The dial is very well preserved. Superb full plate movement with key wind, verge escapement, chain and fusee. Fire Gilded. Applied engraved ornaments and sawn, square Balusterpfeiler, signed, three-arm steel balance. Most finely engraved, pierced balance cock with grotesque mask. The clean plant is working properly. The watch is in very nice, near mint condition, fully functional. Bibliography watchmaker: GH Baillie "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the world" page 281 . Pair case verge fusee pocketwatch John Sanderson Newcastle circa 1743 . A rare pair-cased verge fusee pocketwatch in near mint condition by John Sanderson from Newcastle circa 1743 . Diameter 51mm, weight 102 g. Outer case made of silver, polished, large lateral hinge.
