A very rare British Armed Forces SMITHS Military Watch issued in 1960 specifically for use by the Directorate of Overseas Surveys - D.O.S. There appear to be very few D.O.S watches still in existence and this particular watch is numbered 110/60, which I believe makes it the 110th military watch issued by the D.O.S in 1960.The case back is marked with the military arrow followed by "110/60" "D.O.S" "6645-99-910-1000".This watch is in exceptional condition for its age and is in excellent working order. It houses a "MADE IN ENGLAND" 17 Jewel Manual wind Cal.6011 movement. It has just been tested on a Timegraph diagnostics machine and is running to an accuracy within +10 seconds per day and has a very healthy amplitude reading of 247, which indicates that the watch is NOT currently in need of a service. The case measures 35mm diameter, excl. crown, with 18mm fixed lugs. It is attached to a green nylon Nato strap. The Tritium markers on the dial appear to be in original condition and show a nicely-aged cream patina and the similiarly-aged dark patin
