The item being auctioned is a solid 9 ct Gold Albert watch chain. Each link is stamped “375” the English hallmark for 9 ct. It looks like there is a date mark for 1882.The item is 16 inches long and thus can be used as a choker or a double strand Bracelet. The FOB links can easily be removed to leave a straight chain. The medallion was made by “Morrison of Falkirk” in Scotland. The item has a Hallmark and was assayed in Birmingham England with a date of 1852. It is 9 ct gold and the cloisonne inlay is of a Canary. The chain weighs ~45 g which is very heavy gold. The medallion weighs ~10 g. This chain was bought with the J W Benson watch in Chester England in 1919 by my father who worked in the theartre district. He wore it only on special occasion as did I. I inherited upon his death in 1966. The matching watch is listed separately.
