IMPROTANT: You are buying an antique/second hand item and as such it will not be in mint condition so please study the pictures carefully as you are buying what you see. For the convenience of the buyer I list the approximate timing in the description but please understand that due to the age of these watches I can't guarantee them to keep that exact time to the second.
DESCRIPTION: In Good Running Order!! Keeps approx 1-2 minutes over 24 hours, repeater also functions perfectly (see video above) and is in excellent condition for its age apart from some minor damage to the hour hand, as seen in the pictures. This is a repeater so there is a slide button at the side of the case that can be activated in order to tell the time by sound. This is a top quality piece by the renowned watchmaker Philippe Dubois Et Fils which were well known for producing high quality repeaters, automatons, skeleton watches, false pendulum watches and fancy enamel watches. It has a solid 18ct gold open face case with an argent hallmark on both covers and has also been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 18ct solid gold apart from the bow which is plated. The back cover has the original german presentation (most likely from the first owner of the watch) that reads "Zur Erinnerung An Den 20ten April 1854" and the inside cover has the watchmakers signed presentation that when translated to english reads "Lever Escapement, Visible Pallets, 21 Ruby Jewels, Compensation Balance" and signed "Philippe Dubois Et Fils, Locle" at the bottom. The dial is white enamel porcelain with roman numerals and fancy roman style hands. It has a clean glass bullseye crystal to protect the dial. The movement is a stunning high grade, swiss, key wind, 21 jewel, gilt bridge plate movement with a solid gold lever escapement, solid gold end caps for the escapement and quarter repeating complication. Diameter: 45mm Total Weight: 66g
