When making their own watches the company often uses their own calibers though they will also use a painstakingly reworked A. Schild or ETA movement at times. Girard-Perregaux has proven themselves to be a master of technically demanding pieces. The company holds multiple Tourbillion calibers, including the famed Three Golden Bridges originally created by Constant Girard-Perregaux in 1889. Today, Girard-Perregaux produces some of the best, and most spectacular well-made timepieces in the world. The featured watch is an Automatic, Platinum Girard-Perregaux ww.tc Chronograph. The ww.tc collection (world-wide time control) has quickly become a recognized icon of the Brand. The "world times" function provides a simultaneous display of all time zones on its dial, leaving you the ability to read the time in 24 different international cities at one time. The three-bodied 43 mm case has a rounded bezel, concave lugs, winding crown at 9 which moves the city disc, crown at 3 for setting the time and moving the night/day function, sapphire crystal and an exhibition caseback with 6 screws. The white, cream dial has applied luminous hour makers, auxiliary dials for the for the Minutes, Hours & running Seconds, which are surrounded by an inner revolving ring depicting night/day hours and the outermost revolving disc bearing the name of 24 cities in the world. Housed inside this complicated and stunning piece is an automatic self-winding movement with a water resistance of up to 30 meters. Completing this piece is a black leather strap with a matching Girard-Perregaux deployment buckle. Girard-Perregaux, has created this chronograph to indicate different times around the world. It can be used to read, simultaneously, and very easily, the time in 24 different international cities, one for each time zone; hence the name, ww.tc, the abbreviation for World Wide Time Control ....A Masterpiece! And this one has a particularly beautiful color combination in black with blue, red, and white accents.   Personal Note--This is an incredibly special watch. I have to say that I have been collecting watches since I was a child and have always been impressed by world timer watches. They are simply incredible. One of the most interesting things about them is always seeing the cities in the world chosen to represent the time zones. But equally as impressive is the ease of use with which the watch can be operated.
