Antique Victorian hunter case pocket watchin four colors of 14K gold.
Mechanical movement with Safety Barrel is running.I do not know how long it runs or how accurately it keeps time, but it's been doing well this past hour.
Dial is white porcelain with no cracks or gouges, just a few hairlines.Hands are blue; Numbers and markings are all black. The watch has a 1 1/2" diameter including the bezel. The crystal has barely a mark. This beautifully textured watch case has an attractive four color pattern ingreen, pink, white and yellow gold.Never have I seen scalloped edges on a pocket watch. The case is extraordinary. There is a cartouche on the front for an initial(s)--never engraved. On the back there is an old diamond set center.Attached to this all 14K gold watch (that is covers and case),there is a gold filled watch fob.It, too, is ornate. The end piece has a long thin amethyst.Watch serial number is 6529787 which dates the watch between 1890-1898.Watch alone weighs 53 grams. This very uncommon Victorian pocket watchwas brought to us from an estate in Newport, RI.It is still running.
