Solid stainless steel screw back case.
Many sharp angles makes this a great design and very utilitarian. The 3 register black dial Wittnauers are going up in prices and are selling for upwards of $10,000 as you can see from past ebay sales. Here is a two register version for much less. The demand is high and the supply is dry. I'm just lucky to offer this one to the ebay community at a reasonable price. If you are a Wittnauer and Longines chronograph collector or any chronograph collector, and you are missing a black gilt dial example in your collection.

One of the best Chronograph models from the 1950's and 60's
This rare black dial model has a military look to it. All stainless steel case.
Case left untouched, no polish, has typical wear.
Dial is black with white markers and luminous still intact.
Solid stainless steel case, leveled top
Black dial, and leveled top combo steel case give this watch a military look. Notice the seconds hand and the right sub register hand has some white paint loss from age and wear assuming. The dial appears to be in good shape for its age and no major issues aside from the ones indicated. Their is some aging. Pristine condition not to be expected, however this is as good as black dials get in a chronograph, especially it being a utilitarian watch that was used plenty in its day.

Watch works but not timed for long periods.
If perfection desired, new owner can have it serviced. Watch sold as is.

A lot of beautiful angles on the case, great design both dial and case.
The Landeron 248 housed many great watches from the same era.

which most collectors regard as the best since it takes a better beating. I ship International.
Watch comes with a new old stock genuine Shark skin band. let me know if your country allows it. if not i may have to replace it.
