WELCOME!This exquisite pocket watch was made in 1909, over 107 years ago. There were 2000 made by Elgin that year in this model, 7 jewel, 6 S size. Because the setting and winding pin is on the side this is considered a Railroad pocket watch, or it would be at the 12:00. Very few now remain and probably none remain in such a beautiful 14k solid gold full hunting case, with four solid gold closures or case doors, made and signed 14k, by G.W.W. & Co. This ornate case has an old cut diamond, center set in a rose gold, and is about 2mm (ish). This case is decorative on both sides. The colonel star is rare and also beautiful!There are two primary colors of 14k gold, yellow and rose. However, I see other gold colors depending on the light and I have tried to take as many photos as possible in different lighting for your viewing perspective and as part of the description for you.
The dial is in spectacular condition as well as the crystal. This movement is set by gently pulling the pin out and turning backward. It is wound in the opposite direction, a slight touch between the two.The pocket watch was purchased from a bank vault estate and was inside the presumed, original, soft leather snap case.58.83 total gram weight. Almost 42mm round in body, 53mm from stem to bottom, and about 60mm with keep up.This watch was just serviced by a watch professional and is running and keeping time. We are jewelers and have professionally polished the gold to anything in the photos is pure shine. There was and still is a small tool dent on one of the inner solid case doors.
