New | As new | Excellent | Very good | Good | Fair | Poor Above in bold and in blue is my subjective opinion. Inevitably this opinion always reflect the age of the item and what I expect to find based in my previous experience. Please look at the pictures and read the item's description to make your own opinion. Brand: Orator - altough it is difficult to see, the name is clearly stamped in the dial Model: Thirties or forties vintage chronograph with snail scale Dial: Original, copper colored dial which has aged in a beautiful way, with nice patina. With 2 sub-dials. Sub dial at 12 o’clock has a 45 minutes counter. Case: round shaped nickel chromed case with stainless steel snap back Size: Diameter: 32 mm (excluding crown)
Length: 37mm distance between the lugs: 18mm Movement: High quality Swiss made 17 jewels caliber Venus 170 pillar wheel movement. This movement was used by several big names in some of its minute recorder chronographs of the same era. Breitling was one of these brands. Crystal: Plexiglas/plastic Bezel: Crown: Unmarked Strap/bracelet: Brand new 18mm genuine leather bracelet Gender: Man country of origin Switzerland Working condition: I have wound the watch and have left it laying flat in its back. It has shown a deviation of -17 seconds after 12 hours and a deviation of -21 seconds after 24 hours. Winding and time setting are both smooth. I wind the watch every now and then and one of the times the watch needed a little shake to start. I guess this was one out of fifteen. All chronograph functions, start, stop and reset work fine. The last five times I have tested the chronograph it has worked for more than 6 hours without stopping. Before that sometimes it worked for hours other times it stopped after some minutes. I have taken it back to the watchmaker that did the CLA job. Although it now seems fine I don’t believe that it would be fine always. These are simple home tests. No matter how well they may look, there is no implied warranty about any of the results. Service history: The watch was fully serviced in November of 2015. The case was chromium re-plated and the crystal was replaced. The movement was subject to a C.L.A. job - that means cleaning, oiling and adjusting, by a trusted watchmaker. As far as I remember some pieces were replaced, but I can’t remember which piece or pieces. The watch was sent back to the watchmaker in February of 2016, for the motif explained above. This means that you can wear the watch without fear that the lack of lubrication might wear the movement pieces due to excessive friction.
Water resistance: Water resistant: unknown
Note: The watch should not be used underwater! All diving watches, even recent, should be sent for a qualified water sealing service each year prior to diving. Other data: No box, no papers. Disclaimer The item is sold as is, without any warranty.
